Kangaroo Island is the third largest island in Australia. To avoid disappointment we strongly recommend at least a two day minimum stay. If you enjoy bushwalking, wildlife, birdwatching or photography then 3 to 5 nights is ideal. We are located at the centre of spectacular coastal scenery, fantastic wilderness walking and wildlife.
We truly loved it here, this is a very beautiful place and we didnt have enough time here.

Facilities
Cape Cassini Wilderness Retreat offers three separate guests rooms and can cater for up to 6 with a range of living areas and dining options.
The retreat's eco certified accommodation includes two ensuite rooms with queen size beds and a twin room with a downstairs private bathroom. All rooms feature a table and chairs, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and Port for a nightcap.
The queen size ensuite rooms have a balcony offering panoramic ocean views. From the balcony guests have a view from Althorpe Island across Investigator Strait to magnificent Cape Cassini. At sunrise and sunset watch the wallabies and kangaroos feed. The cliff top is 100 metres from the house where you often see a family of Wedgetail eagles play in the updrafts at the edge of the cliff. No matter what time of year the rooms are usually bathed in sunshine and provide a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view.
Retreat features & facilities for guests to enjoy:
- Lounge
- Dining Room
- Library
- Large screen television, video and stereo

Ocean views, rammed earth walls leading to a raked pine wood ceiling, a feature stone wall, and a huge wood fire designed by your host, David, make the lounge a pleasant and cosy part of the retreat.
The library is a special place full of information about Kangaroo Island. There are brochures and information books to peruse at your leisure, or novels and photographs to enjoy.
The Conservatory has many different growing herbs and plants. It is a great place to socialise or just sit in the sun and watch the animals come out to feed in the evening.
