| 5/4/07 | Sun 1/4 An Echidna foraging out the front of the house by the pond we are keeping filled several times a day. Lots of animals and birds drinking there. Wed 3/4 Our guests walked down to Pebble Beach and had an unusual experience of two Sea Eagles flying very close overhead to catch the cliff updraft. An owl found its way into our orchard and out overnight. |
| 13/3/07 | There were 4 schools of fish in our bay out from the cliffs this morning. Two were quite large being at least 10m in diameter and very dark with lots of closely packed fish, perhaps salmon. There were also 2 large fish perhaps small sharks cruising nearby well under the water and then a very large shark with its dorsal fin regularly breaking the surface. |
| 1/3/07 | Seeing lots of birds and animals daily around the house as we must have the only water they can access. We saw 9 kangaroos on our front lawn eating grass (we are trying to get rid of) from the orchard on Tues night at sunset. The termite mound which has goanna eggs presumably laid in it hasn't had its hole completely backfilled. Another hole was dug in a mound by the track closer to the house has not been backfilled at all. Perhaps it is so dry the termites in that mound haven't survived. |
