In March 08, GreenGlobes rated us at or better than Best Practice in 9 out of 10 environmental indicators and commended us on a world class achievement.
In addition vegetation on our property removes more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than we produce which means we are carbon positive, not just carbon neutral.
Welcome to Cape Cassini Wilderness Retreat, Kangaroo Island's only eco accredited accommodation. On the North Coast, the retreat is surrounded by 360 hectares of Australian wilderness fronting onto over 2 km of spectacular coastline.
“If you only had one week to spend in Australia, you should spend it right here in this very spot! Views, wildlife, coastline, hikes, nature, history, it is all right here you needn't look any further.”
J & L Nash, Ridgway, Colorado, USA
We provide the perfect escape down a private road through 1000 acres of coastal wilderness to a clifftop paradise with fantastic ocean views. Your hosts Pat & David offer a choice of two experiences.
Hosted Bed & Breakfast accommodation and exclusive Private Charter 4WD touring or the retreat as a self catered Ecolodge with breakfast provisions and the unique advantage of hosts nearby in a separate wing for help and advice.
Watch the wild kangaroos, wallabies and birds up close (less than 10 metres away) from the comfort of the retreat, enjoy bushwalking, take a guided tour, experience the beauty of the sea and shoreline.
“The best place of our long holiday, hospitality, kindness and good advice in a wonderful B&B”
