David Welford lives in an apartment next to the retreat giving guests the best of both worlds. Privacy and independence with help and advice right next door, if required.
David is a retired Senior Physics teacher who has enjoyed organising and designing a self-sufficient lifestyle. His main areas of interest are generation of energy from natural resources, living with and using sensitively, finite resources and local flora, fauna and geology. He is a Kangaroo Island Natural Resource Management Board member and a representative on the Tourism Optimisation Management Model and KI Bushfire Management Committees.
David has a Certificate II in Hospitality and Tourism and a Certificate III in Tour Guiding. He likes fishing, photography, bush-walking and watching the animals and birds in the bush.
