Kangaroo Island Kangaroos

Our kangaroos are a sub species of Western Grey Kangaroos and are different to the mainland variety in that they are stockier and have darker fur which is thicker perhaps because of the cooler climate. They really like Kikuyu grass of which we have quite a bit to get rid of from our orchard. So its easy to get them to come to the front of the house for guests with a bit of grass, especially now when there isn't as much for them to eat.

This morning Pat went for a cliff top walk and saw a pod of about 10 Dolphins down in the bay. The other picture shows a scorpion spotted several weeks ago rushing off to hide in a crevice at the front of the Retreat. This one was about 50 mm long.
