Orchid Gully Bush Walk & BBQ

Heading up the track from the house, we came across a 60cm Goanna.Heading down into the gully, it is surprising how dry every thing has become. We spotted a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets in the creek bed and saw the flash of colours as they flew further on. We checked a pool above the waterfall for native fish, Climbing Galaxias and spotted one. Also a yabby further on. At the BBQ spot at the base of the 10 metre waterfall I did a little thistle weeding after lunch, but there is lots of it. On the way back the track goes past some small caves ideal for wallabies to shelter in. A few little bones were spotted. Anthropologists sift the dirt in caves like this to find animal bones.
