Hunting for a Koala

22 Jul 2019

It is amazing how quickly wildlife disappears if you rush off to get a camera ! Echidnas, snakes and today the Koala that walked across the track only a few metres ahead of me. I had about 100 metres to go to the Retreat to rush back with my phone but after 20 mins of searching the Koala had disappeared. This photo taken several years ago of a Koala spotted from my ute by our track.

I did come across these Drooping Sheoak cone chewings, however. Crimson Rosellas leave chewings with discarded cones left in apple core shapes. Glossy Black Cockatoos have been sighted on the property more regularly as previously reported and they leave chewings like these.
